Do teenagers yell insults at you while you jog, or

is it just me? Just trying to get some exercise in today, running down the sidewalk along a road in the suburbs. Every few times I get someone yelling "f*gg*t" or "f*g", always a group of young guys.
As much as I'd love to confront them, I am not going to take the risk.

...teenage guys will never change
except when there's teenage girls
then its just plain teenagers
yeah, I've done that, but always with guy friends.
honstly, its nothing personal. it's more cause you're there.
if they saw you the next day, they'd have no clue the the hell you are.

-edit-
oh yes, because whistling at a shirtless guy is so much more mature then shouting.

Young people in particular seem to feel entitled to make fun of others. I usually ignore them if they say something to me because they're just a bunch of punks, but if they call me a name like "faggot," then I say, "Takes one to know one!" because nothing pisses them off more.

Don't ignore it. You'll hate yourself it you do. Stop and turn around to face them. First of all, it throws them off - they never expect that. Then speak. There is usually a ring leader. Say something like, "You always say that when you get around your friends. I thought we talked about that." His buddies will turn the attention to him instead of you.

If he starts to get annoyed, then you can say something like, "Oh,my. Now you are a big man. Now you are going to hit the little f*g" (or whatever the name called was). They will usually walk off by then. And you will feel much better about the situation.

If all else fails, think about this. These are people that you probably paid little notice to. But they really paid attention to you. There is a reason that they noticed you. And it wasn't their attraction to beautiful women. See what I'm saying.

The maintenance guy at my apt. complex caught up to a Jeep full of young guys who threw a bottle at him on his bike and (superficially) stabbed one of them. They just took off, no cops were called. I bet they'll think twice. I think it's common. I've seen people jogging in unconventional places like the mall in the mornings and at cemeteries. I think to avoid what you're talking about. Don't take it personally.

No but, there was a school that used to jog in the mornings when I did and they were extremly inconsiderate-they jogged in a sideways line taking up the whole path and were really slow. I don't see them anymore they so I guess they gave up. Go when they have to be in school so you don't have to deal with the little brats. And have a smile on your face because while your out in the fresh air they are stuck in some boring class probably getting Ds and trying to cover up their own homosexuality!

Hello,

No, most are pretty good and respectful that I have seen and sometimes if I hear a laugh or comment I stop and BS with them.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

I have never had this happen but then again I live in a very nice community and I know most of the teens' parents.
If it were to ever happen, I would just give them the middle finger, if they caught me on a really bad day, I'd come back with my belt and literally whip one of their azzes infront his friends.

Well, i'll let you know it just isnt you : ) Speaking for the girls.... we get the whistles, and the hoot'n and hollering ..oh and dont forget the infamous HONKing.. SOO appealing (hope you can feel the sarcasm). Sorry to hear that you have to put up with the imaturity of young guys while you're out there bustin your butt to stay fit and healthy. Dont let it discourage you, keep running if its what you love!

-Another jogger you may pass : )
